BOARD MEETING MINUTES
WORKSHOP MEETING
AUGUST 3, 2000
A. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
President Jim Zell called a workshop meeting of the Board of Directors of the Stinson Beach
County Water District to order at 4:05 p.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2000, at the District Office
located at 3785 Shoreline Highway in Stinson Beach, California.
Directors present:

C. SETTING OF AGENDA
The agenda was adopted as presented.
D. GENERAL BUSINESS
- Discussion Regarding the SBCWD Telecommunications Site Public Hearings: Richard Dinges summarized the manager's report and asked the Board to advise management of any concerns regarding changes to the related draft resolution. Elizabeth Sapanai reminded the Board that a public hearing at the County is required prior to the installation of any telecommunications antennae. Charles Dutkin recommended that the resolution delineate that two public hearings be held. The item was continued to the next meeting.
- Discussion Regarding the SBCWD Pesticide and Herbicide Policy: Richard Dinges clarified District use/non-use of pesticides and herbicides, stating that the only pesticide/herbicide currently used is Round-up in minimal amounts. The Board discussed terminology and suggested that concerned members of the public gather information regarding non-toxic alternatives and formulate a plan to disseminate that information. The Board directed the General Manager to draft a resolution to be considered at the next meeting.
- Discussion Regarding the SBCWD Leak Reduction Policy: The Board outlined the current leak policy, discussed concerns regarding conservation, detection and responsibility and suggested possible policy amendments. Charles Dutkin agreed to draft an outline of proposed language changes to be reviewed at the next regular meeting.
F. COMMITTEE REPORTS
Robert Oliver, of the Bolinas-Stinson Resource Recovery Committee, stated that the Resource
Committee is looking forward to accepting the donated SBCWD dump truck under the
auspices of the BPUD.
G. MANAGER'S REPORT
Richard Dinges advised the Board that the election filing period deadline is August 11, 2000.
